Synthetica began with a problem we couldn't ignore. Our founders — three analytical chemists working across academic and industrial labs — kept finding the same thing when they tested commercially-sourced research peptides: the certificates of analysis didn't match the compounds in the vial.
Sometimes the variance was small. Sometimes it wasn't. Either way, it was introducing noise into experiments that demanded silence.
So in early 2019, we leased a small cleanroom outside Boston, bought a single HPLC system on credit, and committed to a simple promise: every milligram we ship will be exactly what we say it is, verified by labs that have no incentive to agree with us.
Five years later, we operate three synthesis suites, partner with two ISO-accredited verification labs, and supply researchers in 38 countries. The promise hasn't changed.
